EnviroSound is an exploration of data through tangible mediums and the sonification of statistics. Google Trends data on environmental issues is fed through a xylophone, producing different sounds depending on the varying weight of statistics across a ten-year period. Each key on the xylophone is representative of a year within the data. As you stroke each key you will hear varying octaves depending on the search volume of the presented environmental issue pertained to that time in history. Enviro Sound seeks to provoke thought on the changing recognition of environmental issues as influenced through varying trends. By sonifying the data through a xylophone, the user is able to interact with the data, and ultimately understand it better.

Envirosound is a collaboration with Brian Peel (Game Design and Development).
